Edventure AI tutoring platform for schools

Overview
Edventure is an AI tutoring platform for schools in Israel and the US. Students work with Edwin a real-time 3D avatar in personalized classroom sessions. Teachers follow the conversation live and see progress without drowning in admin work.
I owned end-to-end delivery of Edwin: the session product, the conversational stack, and the production move to a cloud setup that can hold low-latency voice at school scale.
Approach
The conversational stack was designed as one system, not a chatbot glued onto a course page:
- Azure speech-to-text for student voice
- LLM-driven pedagogical responses
- Dual TTS: ElevenLabs for audio, Azure visemes for the face
- Frame-accurate lip-sync on Three.js GLB avatars
Production later moved from Microsoft Azure to Google Cloud (Cloud Run, global load balancing, VPN, event-driven Cloud Triggers) to improve deploy velocity and network isolation without killing latency on live voice sessions.
The platform was hardened for education use with SOC 2 / ISO 27001–aligned controls, encrypted data paths, and an enterprise-grade security posture.
Outcome
The product scaled from 200 to 5,000+ registered users across schools. Two engineers were mentored alongside the CTO on architecture decisions. Live classroom sessions feel like a tutor in the room, not a bolted-on chatbot.
